Best dog food products to buy isn\u2019t a good title &#8211; it\u2019s promoting products and could be laced with affiliate links\/easily monetised.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How to make your own dog food could be a much better title &#8211; because this doesn\u2019t promote any products and is very value driven for the reader.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The more value there is for the reader, the more likely the webmaster is going to add a link to your content.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Another hack:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Look at whether you can realistically beat your competitors content.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You want your article to obviously be better than your competitor\u2019s.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Sometimes the website will swap your competitor\u2019s link out for yours if it\u2019s good enough.)<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So pick your battles here:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can\u2019t produce a better article VS your competitors, move on to the next opportunity. The higher it is, the more authoritative a website may be<\/li><li><strong>Organic traffic<\/strong>: Go for sites that are getting a decent amount of traffic from Google. 100+ visitors per month is a good sign.<\/li><li><strong>Penalties<\/strong>: If the website has received a Google Penalty in the past and there\u2019s a huge dip in their organic traffic, that\u2019s a link you should try to avoid<\/li><li><strong>Relevance<\/strong>: Is the website contextually relevant to you? Will the link look natural if they add it to their article?<\/li><li><strong>Quality<\/strong>: What\u2019s the overall quality of the site like? Does it look like a real website people would actually read? Or does it look very spammy\/low quality?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t have to be too strict on the above factors &#8211; it\u2019s better to use common sense here.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if a website has a lot of red flags, filter it out.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s better to do this early in the process, to save yourself time.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s a quick video tutorial on exactly how to run through your list and filter out the right prospects:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Link Building Prospecting: Build HIGHER Quality Backlinks With Outreach\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DMj4gnyLt8A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your list of URLs is ready, it\u2019s time to find the email address for each person.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How? You could:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Search the website manually &#8211; especially the contact\/about us pages<\/li><li>Check the website owner\u2019s LinkedIn page for an email address<\/li><li>Or what I usually do, is run the site through <a href=\"http:\/\/hunter.io\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Hunter<\/a> to bulk search emails<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But a word of warning:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many email addresses you\u2019ll find online don\u2019t work &#8211; sometimes almost as many as 50% aren\u2019t valid!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff move on, people set up spam trap email addresses or sometimes it\u2019s just a typo.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever the issue, make sure you verify your email addresses before sending them.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will avoid high bounce rates, improving your deliverability and landing you more backlinks in the long run.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tools like <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/neverbounce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Neverbounce<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/clearout.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Clearout<\/a> are useful for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Step 3: Content Creation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your content is the linkable asset:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If it sucks, no-one will link to it.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you have to get this right:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily there\u2019s a few optimizations you can make to boost your conversions with cold email outreach.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s what I\u2019d recommend:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Look at your competitor\u2019s content VS yours<\/strong>: How can you beat it? Can you be more detailed? More up to date? Better design?<\/li><li><strong>Don\u2019t include commercial elements<\/strong>: No opt-ins, pop-ups, affiliate links &#8211; I could list 100 different ways you SHOULDN\u2019T monetize your content here! Basically, your content should just be 100% value driven.<\/li><li><strong>Unique Angle<\/strong>: Tackle your competitor\u2019s article from a fresh perspective.
