This guide has been updated for 2021 design update on Google My Business (GMB).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Google My Business (GMB) we have a nifty tool called Location Groups<\/em>, previously known as business accounts<\/em><\/a>. This provides a more secure to manage multiple users across several locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To create a location group within your Google My Business follow these steps listed below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Adding Business to Location Group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step One:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to Google My Business (https:\/\/business.google.com\/<\/a>), and sign into the Gmail account that manages the locations you are wishing to group and give access to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Two:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Single Location<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

If you have only 1 business in your Google My Business account, Go to Businesses<\/em> on the left menu of your dashboard (https:\/\/business.google.com\/u\/1\/locations<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have multiple businesses in your Google My Business account, it will directly take you to businesses management page (https:\/\/business.google.com\/u\/1\/locations<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Three:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Click Create group.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have multiple businesses locations in your GMB, it will look like this, still, Click Create Group<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Four:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Appropriately name the Location group<\/em> under Group name, <\/em>click Create<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modal will show up to name the group<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The location group will be created, and new dropdown with “Ungrouped” shown by default. The newly created group will be in this dropdown:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click on “Ungrouped” dropdown to see newly created location group<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Step Five:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  1. Select the location that you want to add to the group;<\/li>
  2. Click “Actions”;<\/li>
  3. Click “Transfer business”.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Step Six:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Select a corresponding location group<\/em> that you had created and click transfer.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step Seven:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Verify that the selected location has been placed in the correct location group<\/em> by clicking Ungrouped Dropdown, and selecting the newly created group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Adding Users\/Giving Access To Your Location Group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Step Eight:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Click the Group settings<\/em> to go the settings the page for the new location group<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Click Manage users<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Click Add users<\/em> to share access to the location group, and, subsequently, to the business GMB (Google My Business) account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You will see your own email already listed<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Step Eleven:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Giving access to colleagues<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Simply add the email of the user you would like to add, select the user in the dropdown shown, and choose the appropriate role:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Giving access to your marketing agency<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Instead of adding email, add your marketing agency<\/a>‘s ID number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The agency’s name will popup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Click on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Select Owner for the role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You will still be Primary Owner, and would not be able to get kicked out by another non-primary owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
